Disability Non-verbal, Developmental delay
Rose is a 4-year-old girl that lives with her mother. Rose was normal and healthy until 2 years ago when she began experiencing seizures. She was placed on medication for 1 month, after which time the seizures stopped and she was removed from the medicine. Since that time, she has become developmentally delayed. She was walking before the seizures and now she is not. She can pull herself to standing but cannot stand on her own. She is also non-verbal. She is low-tone in the legs and needs more activities where she is bearing weight on her knees and/or feet. She is a very active child and crawls around everywhere and it is difficult to get her to stay in one place.
