Pachalo is an 11-year-old boy with hydrocephalus. Pachalo had a shunt placed in his head when he was very young, and the hydrocephalus was just beginning. Despite that, his head has continued to grow, and we suspect that it may be clogged or blocked; he will need another surgery. When they first went to the hospital, the doctors drained the fluid from his head and at first it was bloody, showing signs of a stroke that was possibly caused by the hydrocephalus. Pachalo cannot walk or speak and physical therapy causes his body to swell up. His mom would like to see him able to sit upright by himself and communicate with her letting her know his needs.
