Disability unknown, developmental delay
Chikumbutso is an 11-year-old boy that lives with his mother. Chiku was born healthy and developing normally until 7 months old when he had a seizure. They took him to the hospital where he stayed for a few days and was released. A couple of days after being back home he had another seizure, but the family did not take him back to the hospital. About a week passed and they began seeing that he was banging his head on the ground and acting strangely, so they took him back to the hospital. There they treated him and told them to return in 4 months. His mom lost track of time and never returned. He has not had a seizure since that time. However, there was lasting damage done to the brain and he became delayed in his development. He has only been walking for 1 year, his left side is weak, he doesn’t speak, and he has difficulties in chewing his food.
