Julita is the eldest child in a family of two. She lost her father in 2020 after he fainted and died upon arrival at the hospital. Her mother died two years later due to pregnancy complications. Her aunt, who is a single mother stepped in to care for Julita and her sister, Bernadette. However, the aunt struggles to make ends meet as she has 5 children of her own. The family mostly eats once a day depending on how much the aunt has made from her piecework. Often, the family relies on well-wishers to provide for their basic needs. Julita struggles with school fees and educational supplies, which puts her at high risk of dropping out of school.

Julita enjoys learning Chichewa in school and her favorite color is yellow. She likes having rice with beans and loves jumping rope with her friends. She goes to a Baptist church in her village and dreams of becoming a teacher.
