Innocent is a cheerful little baby boy. His life, however, took a tragic turn when he lost his beloved mother after a long unknown illness. His father has been absent from his life, and his mother was the sole provider for Innocent and his four-year-old brother, Shavin.

The two children, Innocent and Shavin, are currently under the care of their frail, kind-hearted grandmother, Linley, who has a total of six children under her care. Linley is widowed and struggling to provide basic needs for the children. Living in a small mud-brick house, Linley relies on occasional piecework in the maize fields to sustain her family. She is in dire need of help to ensure that Innocent recovers from malnutrition as he weighed 8.8 kg by the time we conducted our assessment.
