Emmanuel is the first born of six children. When he was in grade 4, his Father abandoned the family, kicking them out of the house. Emmanuel and his siblings left with their mother and went back to her home village. He struggled throughout the next four years to complete school because there was so much hunger and poverty that he felt he should drop out and find work to help his mom support the family. When he was in grade 8, his teachers noticed that he was intelligent, but was struggling from coming to school hungry. They brought his case to the attention of the Passion Center who enrolled him and three of his siblings into the program. Emmanuel is now attending University where he is studying for a teaching degree.
