Chancy is the only child in his family. He lives with his grandparents who care for him after being abandoned by his parents. The grandparents rely on odd jobs to provide and support him. However, food insecurity persists, making Chancy susceptible to uncertainty and sometimes going to bed without a meal when his grandparents fail to find daily piecework.

Being in the ECD program will provide Chancy with breakfast and lunch every day, as well as give him an educational foundation, preparing him for primary school in a few years. He also will be given an opportunity to hear about Jesus and know how much he is loved.

Chancy dreams of becoming a soldier one day. He likes playing soccer with his friends. His favorite color is blue and he enjoys eating nsima with meat.
