Catherine is the last born in a family of three. She has been living with her grandmother since the death of her mother, who died from an illness in July 2019.  Her father left when she was two months old and cut all ties with the family. Despite struggling to make ends meet as she depends on piecework, her grandmother took responsibility for Catherine and her siblings. She is struggling even to find food and clothes for the children, forcing Catherine to put on worn-out clothes.

Catherine wants to become a doctor when she grows up, and her favorite subjects at school are Mathematics and English. At home, she likes helping her grandmother with house chores, and in her free time, she likes to read. Catherine is a member of the Baptist church, and she is a well-behaved child at home.
