According to the World Food Programme (WFP), 4.2 million Malawians (out of a population of 20 million) are suffering acute food insecurity and require emergency assistance during the lean months ahead. Our Passion family is not immune to this. We are already seeing this in our church and ministry communities and are asking the Lord to provide the resources we need to help families near us. Our prayer is that He would provide 950 bags of maize.

The way these bags of maize will be distributed is as follows:

·        50 bags to each of our 9 churches to help the neediest families- that totals 450 bags.

·        200 bags for our staff and volunteer families

·        300 bags for the Dzaleka Refugee Camp PCP families

A donation of $50 will provide for one 110-lb bag of maize. For our initial goal of 950 bags, at $50 per bag, we are trusting God for $47,500. We know that seems like a lot, but we’ve seen God act through His people so many times before. And when there is a need, HE alone can meet that need.

We are asking everyone to please pray! What an incredible blessing this would be if each family were to receive a bag of maize to sustain them during this Food Emergency!
